Choosing A Course 19+

If you are having trouble choosing a course, take a moment to consider the following items.

Some of our courses are especially designed for adults and are generally held during school hours. Many of our full time courses are offered over 3 days per week, which means that you can fit study around your lifestyle.

Enhancing your career

As well as our Adult College full and part time courses, adults are welcome to study alongside 16-19 year old students in many vocational areas, such as Hairdressing and Beauty, Construction, Care, Hospitality and Catering. Visit the Eastbourne Vocational College or Lewes 6th Form College for more information.

A new hobby?

There is a wide range of part time day and evening courses available that are designed to enhance your skills and enjoyment. Visit Adult College for details.

Learning Support

If you have a learning difficulty or disability, we can arrange to meet with you before you begin a course to assess what support the college might be able to offer, or recommend a more suitable course. If you enrol on a course you will be asked about this, so please let us know.

Making the change

There are many barriers to starting something new; perhaps you need to arrange childcare or are on a low-income and don't think you can afford to study. Sussex Downs College has childcare facilities at Lewes and Eastbourne.

You may be entitled to help with fees, materials, travel or childcare – please visit our Money Matters section for details of the Level 2 Entitlement, Adult Learning Grant and the Learner Support Fund
