Dick HolsteDICK HOLSTE (Chair) Dick is Chair of the Corporation. He was formerly a senior manager of the National Westminster Bank. He is Chair of the Strategy and Remuneration Committees. He is also Chair of the EVoC Learning Board.


Chris DucklingDR CHRIS DUCKLING (Vice Chair) Chris is Vice Chair of the Corporation. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He now works as an independent consultant and is Managing Director of Many Oaks Consultancy Ltd. He chairs the Curriculum and Standards Committee and the Employer Training Learning Board.


Bob AllenROBERT (BOB) ALLEN Bob is an elected member of Lewes District Council and Seaford Town Council and is also Mayor designate of Seaford. Bob has 35 years experience of full time teaching, including Head of Sixth Form at Spring Park Upper School, Bromley.


Lucy AyliffeLUCY AYLIFFE Lucy was elected Student Governor by the students of Lewes Sixth Form College as a result of elections held in September 2009. Lucy is in the second year of an A level course studying History, Government & Politics and Art.


John BlakeDR JOHN BLAKE John is Principal and Chief Executive of Sussex Downs College.


Tony FeekTONY FEEK Tony is a retired army officer. Following his retirement from the army he served as Clerk to the East Sussex Lieutenancy for thirteen years.


Sue FosterSUE FOSTER Sue has served as a co-opted member of the Audit Committee since September 2007 and became a full member of the Corporation in October 2009. She is a partner in the firm of Knill James (Lewes office), Chartered Accountants.


Sally GausdenSALLY GAUSDEN Sally is a partner at Perkins Copeland, Chartered Accountants. Sally chairs the Audit Committee.


Peggy HallPEGGY HALL Peggy is a solicitor/partner at Mayo Wynne Baxter (Eastbourne office). She was formerly a lecturer in Further Education. Peggy chairs the Park College Learning Board.


Brian HigginsBRIAN HIGGINS Brian was formerly employed in the electricity supply industry by Seeboard plc as Marketing and Sales Manager. He has acted as advisor in Business Management and Development to small and medium sized enterprises in Sussex. Brian chairs the Search & Governance Committee and the International College Learning Board.


Ian JungiusIAN JUNGIUS Ian is Headteacher at Willingdon Community School.


Amanda LivingstoneAMANDA LIVINGSTONE is the College’s Health and Safety Manager. She is the Support Staff member of the Corporation.


Mo Lan MarkeyMO LAN MARKEY Mo Lan trained as a lawyer and spent fifteen years working at the University of Hong Kong as Senior Student Affairs Officer. She is a Trustee Board member of Sompriti, a charitable organisation which seeks to advance race equality and to promote the interests of black and minority ethnic people. Mo Lan chairs the Adult College Learning Board.


Graham MarsdenGRAHAM MARSDEN Graham worked in education for 40 years, his final post before retirement being a member of the Senior Management Team at Cavendish School. He is an elected member of Eastbourne Borough Council and has served as the town’s mayor. Currently he is Chairman of the Council’s Scrutiny Committee.


Kieran McNamaraKIERAN MCNAMARA Kieran is Head of Strategic Economic Development and Europe for East Sussex County Council.


Nicola SmithNICOLA SMITH Nicola is employed by the University of Brighton as Principal Lecturer in the School of Computing, Mathematical and Information Sciences. She worked as a librarian before taking up employment at the University of Brighton in 1993.


Marion TrewMARION TREW Marion was formerly Head of the School of Healthcare Professions at the University of Brighton (Eastbourne campus). She chairs the Human Resources Committee and the Lewes College Learning Board.


Sophie WrightSOPHIE WRIGHT Sophie was elected Student Governor by the students of Eastbourne Vocational College as a result of the elections held in November 2009. Sophie is in the first year of a National Diploma course in Art and Design.


Richard CoombsOur Clerk is Mr Richard Coombs. He works on a part-time basis (Monday – Thursday) and reports directly to the Chair of the Corporation but also works closely with the Principal. The Clerk is appointed by the Corporation and is responsible for ensuring that all the activities of the Corporation are conducted in a professional manner, following agreed procedures. The Clerk has a particular responsibility to ensure that Corporation Members operate within the powers granted to the Governing Body by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
