Navigate

Navigate

Navigate is aimed at helping those who are facing an uncertain time in their employment or those looking for a new job. It is a support programme that provides free training and guidance.

The service provides a range of workshops to help people rethink their approach to work plus careers advice and support. Candidates are offered an initial grounding session looking at personal development, CV writing and interview skills. This is followed by taster pathway workshops which can introduce new topics of learning. There is also an opportunity to undertake a range of non accredited courses which allow study in greater detail. This will then hopefully lead to employment or further opportunities to undertake an apprenticeship or other formal training leading to a qualification.

Russ said: "The Navigate concept has given me a framework to my life and given me hope for the future. I have started to undertake some life coaching courses which look at how I see others and how other people react to me.

"During my working career I was office based for most of my career although my job role changed and the way in which we did things certainly changed Navigate is now helping me think outside the box. I enjoy working with my hands and being in the open air, perhaps these strands will lead me to a new career."
