Music Production Foundation Degree student releases CD
Singer and songwriter David Read releases his premiere CD, I know that I should know you, on Monday 7 December. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, the UK’s leading dementia research charity.
The CD is an eclectic mix of folk, blues and indie music produced by David’s son, Stuart at the Sussex Downs College studios in Eastbourne, East Sussex. David studied at the college at Cross Level Way undertaking the Music Production Foundation Degree.
David, 55, explained the motivation behind producing the CD and supporting the Alzheimer’s Research Trust: “My mother, Janet, died with Alzheimer’s in September 2008. We decided to try and do something to help to beat this dreadful disease. We aim to raise over £30,000 through CD sales to fund a pilot breakthrough project for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust."
Rebecca Wood, Chief Executive of the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, said: “ The proceeds will make a real difference in bringing a cure ever nearer and hope to those people living with the daily reality of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
The CD is available from www.iknowthatishouldknowyou.com priced £10 plus £2 postage and packing. Early in 2010 the website will also feature a video and downloads of David’s work.
