Student Support
We have a range of qualified staff who can offer support while you are studying at Sussex Downs College.
Many students find they need more support at times; your personal tutor can refer you to Student Services, or you can simply come along or call, and we will help you to find the most appropriate assistance.
Student Support
Our students enjoy a high level of support which includes course and general support. On-course support is provided by an Academic Tutor and a Personal Tutor plus an extensive range of general support services is offered through the Student Services team. Progress on your course is closely tracked and you will work towards individual learning plans. Parents and employers are involved in the learning process through reports and information evenings.

Student Services are at the heart of the college’s support services. Our experienced staff will assist you to access:
• Admission to full and part time courses
• Guidance sessions to help you make appropriate
course choices
• Financial information, including EMA and
Discretionary Learner Support Fund
• Information about applying to Higher Education
and AimHigher
• A free and confidential Counselling service
• A Connexions Personal Adviser and
Connexions Careers Advisor
• Student Participation, including The Students’
Union and Student Council
• Childcare facilities for children up to 14 years in
our nursery.
