Equality and Diversity Steering Group
The College Equality and Diversity Steering Group has an active cross-college membership comprising union, staff and student representatives at all levels, including senior management and representation from the Corporation. The group meets on a termly basis and is responsible for setting and monitoring equality and diversity priorities for the College, including priorities arising from the new Equality Act and Ofsted Inspection Framework. Its responsibilities, among others, include the communication and promotion of equality and diversity issues and setting standards for monitoring and evaluating the progress of the College’s equality and diversity activities.
Equality Groups
The College has in place four equality groups (Staff LGBT Group, Mutlifaith Group, Disability Group, Ethnicity Group). The groups meet on a half termly basis and exist to provide members with a forum to discuss issues, offer peer support, forward recommendations to College management and contribute to the College Single Equality Scheme action plan.
