Actual pro rata salary range from £9,916 to £11,226 p.a. (for 30 hours per week, 36 weeks per year). Fixed-term contract from November 2014 to July 2015.

This post will provide term time administrative and clerical support for the Learner Support Directorate.  Main functions will include attendance tracking and reporting.

Applicants should have a thorough working knowledge of administrative systems and procedures, and experience of working in a customer focused role. A good level of PC literacy including accurate keyboard skills and the use of speadsheets and databases is required.

A professional approach, excellent communication skills and experience of maintaining administrative records with a high degree of accuracy are also essential.

Sussex Downs College is working in partnership with the Prince’s Trust to run two Team Programmes in Eastbourne and Newhaven. The Prince’s Trust is the UK’s leading youth charity offering 16 to 25 year olds opportunities to develop confidence, learn new skills, get into work and start businesses.

Team is a 12 week personal development programme for 16-25 year olds. Teams of up to 15 young people take part in a challenging and action-packed programme, a major part of which involves teamwork in the community and a 5 day residential.

Key to the success of Prince’s Trust Team Programme is the Team Leader. The ideal candidate will have responsibility for recruiting the team and delivering the 12 week programme. All Team Leaders have to participate in a 7-day training residential prior to commencing the post.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER & SHORT COURSE CO-ORDINATOR

We are seeking to appoint a Co-ordinator to take over the academic planning and co-ordination of Eastbourne International Summer and Short Courses which includes both the Young Learner programme and some of the closed adult groups on the Eastbourne Campus. The post-holder will work in liaison with the Tailor-made course co-ordinator and the Curriculum Leader for Eastbourne English language programmes.

The post is a non-teaching post but requires prior EFL teaching experience with young learners. The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent, a recognised EFL teaching qualification (minimum CELTA or equivalent, DELTA preferred), experience of EFL curriculum development and leadership.

Additional hours in a teaching role may be possible for the post-holder prior to June.

Project Search is a supported internship programme for young people aged 19 to 24 who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities. This is an exciting pilot which will create a Pathway to Employment for young adults who need additional support and training before they enter the world of work. Key to the success of the programme is the partnership between Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne District General Hospital (the host provider) and ChoicES Supported Employment Agency.

The Project SEARCH Job Coaches will support the Programme Co-ordinator to ensure that all of the interns receive high quality support whilst they are on their work placements in the hospital.

This is a new full-time post which will not only be challenging and demanding but most importantly, rewarding. You will play a key role in identifying and raising the aspirations of young people, their families and local businesses.

A vacancy has arisen for a 0.5 FTE Lecturer in Fashion and Textiles (with options for additional teaching) to join the highly successful art and design department at the Eastbourne campus, starting in January 2015. The successful candidate will teach on a range of full-time programmes up to Foundation Art and Design, and will contribute to the development and delivery of the fashion and textiles curriculum.
