Access to Higher Education

If you want to go a long way in life, Sussex Downs College can help you with our very successful Access to Higher Education courses, which will support you to move on to university and study your chosen course. Courses have been created which still give you the time to lead your own life – an important consideration for adult students!

Access courses are for students aged 18+. GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum grade C, or 4), in addition to the Access course will be required for entry to the majority of degree courses; some courses will require a GCSE Science qualification also. Preferably, these qualifications will be in place before enrolling on the Access course, but it is possible to take one GCSE alongside the course. It is vital that you contact the university/universities of your choice to check what their entry requirements and Access grading requirements are.

The Access to HE Diploma is a ten-month intensive course to help committed learners to gain a University place, so dedication is required. All courses are LASER credit-based courses and are QAA approved.

To find out more about any of our Access pathways and how to apply for your place, please contact the course administrators on 030 300 39898, or at access.enquiries@sussexdowns.ac.uk
