Business Foundation Degree
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
If you’re an entrepreneur interested in making your business work or looking to contribute to your current or future company’s success as an employee then this course is for you. Experience in business is not essential but a determination to learn and apply your learning to real business is vital.
The areas of study cover key aspects of business from understanding organisation structure and culture and managing people, to finance and starting a small business. With modules on marketing, accounting and law, you’ll get the skills to make a difference in gaining employment and developing opportunities.
WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?
You will study 11 core modules that also include the development of transferable skills, e.g. time management and assertiveness, enabling you to meet changing circumstances, whether they arise from shift in their own sphere of employment, promotion or from general changes in business practices and the business environment.

- You will need: 64 UCAS Tariff Points from a minimum of one 6 unit qualification.

WHAT CAN YOU DO AFTER THIS COURSE?
You will achieve a Foundation Degree (FdA) in Business. All higher education courses at Sussex Downs College focus on improving the employment prospects of graduates. Learning and teaching strategies reflect the workplace and students are prepared for employment through various methods including work placements, assessment tasks and personal development planning. The course can prepare you for a range of opportunities in the business world. You may also be able to progress to a full business degree programme at the University of Brighton or other institution.
The National Students Survey for 2016 showed overall student satisfaction at 87%, above the sector average and the highest for college based Higher Education in Sussex.
