Testimonial of Ruth Binder
Ruth Binder from Germany recently completed the International Study Year and really enjoyed her time with us.
Here are a few things Ruth had to say about the course:
1. What have been the highlights of your stay at Sussex Downs College?
The College lived up to my expectations with helpful teachers; they were approachable and the lessons very intriguing.
2. Which aspects of the programme have you found most challenging?
Although the A Level subjects were not difficult, it was good to look at some of the topics in more depth and this was stretching. The experience has also helped me to develop my critical thinking skills.
And what did our teachers say about Ruth?
Julie Ireland A Level Biology Teacher
“‘It’s been a pleasure to have Ruth in my lessons – she was able to integrate very well from the start and made friends in the class quickly. Although studying in a 2nd language, she picked up concepts with ease and worked hard to understand how to apply such concepts to data. Her work ethos has been exemplary. She said herself, at the end of her time in the biology class, that she had learned a lot from the lessons, which she will be able to take back to Germany. I feel my teaching practice has been enriched by the experience of having Ruth in my class for two terms’
We look forward to receiving many more students like Ruth on our International Study Year from Germany and other countries.
