Based at our Newhaven campus TUC delivers high quality training to trade union representatives throughout Sussex via the Trades Union Congress (TUC) programme of courses. This programme is an extensive range of courses which will cover all aspects of work for both workplace representatives, and those interested in getting involved in their union.
- Trade union representatives
- Health and safety for trade union representatives
- Union learning representatives
- Awards and certificates in Health and Safety, Employment Law, Contemporary Trade Unionism and Equality
We have a comprehensive range of short courses covering equality, law, organisation and contemporary and historical trade unionism. We are also happy to discuss tailored learning with union branches and look at flexible ways of delivering learning to trade union reps and activists.
Our courses are designed to teach representatives the skills they need to be effective voices in their workplace, to negotiate and build effective relationships with employers and help make workplaces better and safer. We also place huge emphasis on personal development and encourage learners to acquire new skills and gain confidence by progressing through different levels of attainment.
Along with the core TUC programme we also deliver high quality bespoke and in-house courses for key trade union affiliates. We are always happy to discuss training requirements with union branches, officers and reps.
Click on the links below to find out more details about the courses we currently have on offer. Please keep checking as we will be updating our page with new courses throughout the year.
We are happy to discuss both individual training needs and more general questions about our courses. Contact Vicki Gibbs at Trade Union Congress Education.
