Community & Engagement Programmes at Sussex Downs College

A range of interesting and innovative courses from Musical Theatre to the World Kitchen, tailored for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Offered 30 weeks of the year.

Discover courses based in the local community offering a variety of activities and exciting experiences to help you take the next step in your life. Courses include Employability Support, designed to increase confidence and skills, and courses tailored to support people with mental health issues.

Our programme for young parents aged 16 to 24 is designed to engage and support both parents-to-be and young parents. Based in a nurturing environment at the college, working towards a Level 1 qualification and exploring progression routes.

Running three times a year, the Prince’s Trust programme helps young people find work or get into training by completing a qualification. Team members take part in work experience, a residential and many new and exciting challenges.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses takes place both at the college and in the local community. Courses range from unaccredited free /low cost courses to support those preparing for the National ESOL Skills for Life qualification.

A supported employment initiative for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. The collaborative process of this programme helps young people gain paid employment.
