THE SUSSEX DOWNS College Wireless network

Our wireless network is available in the Learning Centres, and in various spots around campus. This means you can bring your own laptop, netbook, smartphone or iPad to use in college. Power points are available for laptops in the Learning Centres..

Study Zones

The Learning Centres are divided into study zones. Students have different study styles; some students like to work together while others like to work individually or in silence. We aim to accommodate these very different needs by providing group work, Individual study and a silent study zone where no talking is allowed. We encourage all students to use the area which is appropriate for the type of study being doing while at the same time showing consideration to other Leaning Centre users and fellow students.

Out of hours services

If you cannot come in to the Learning Centre during opening hours you can ask for items to be left at reception for you. Items can be returned to reception, or to the drop boxes outside each Learning Centre. Alternatively, items can be reserved by logging into the Online Catalogue Learning Centre Catalogue or via email at

Have your say

The Learning Centre consults with the Student Council and runs an annual survey to hear what you have to say.

You are also welcome to e-mail us at or contact the Learning Centres Coordinator or any member of the Learning Centre staff.

The Learning Centre staff are here to help – please speak to us if you need assistance, or have any questions about the Learning Centres.
